Sharing my creative side at work, I made a new Jack-O-Lantern trophy for the University of Michigan Cell & Developmental Biology lab winner of our Halloween Door Decorating Contest. Drum roll please...the winner was
Billy Tsai's lab (pictured in the middle of his team holding the trophy). During the day, Billy and his team work in his laboratory studying how the ER protein quality control process in cells is exploited by viruses (polyomavirus, papillomavirus, Dengue/Zika viruses) to cause infection. There teamwork doesn't stop there, one evening they dreamed up this spider doorway that I enjoyed watching Billy duck under the web when entering and leaving his office for a couple of weeks.
